Mobile elevating work platforms with staircase access for safe work at height.
The right aerial work platform is decided by four questions: how high you work, what the ground looks like, whether you need horizontal outreach, and whether emissions are allowed on site.
Scissor lifts go straight up and offer the largest working platforms. Electric slab scissors (about 6-14 m) suit warehouses and interior fit-out, while rough-terrain and self-leveling crawler scissors (about 8-16 m) handle outdoor structures, steel erection and uneven ground.
Boom lifts add outreach. Telescopic booms (18-26 m) give the fastest straight-line reach on construction sites, articulating booms reach up and over obstacles for maintenance work, and spider lifts (10-30 m) combine boom outreach with doorway-width access and low ground pressure for sensitive floors.
Mast and vertical lifts cover 5.5-11 m indoors where floor space is tight. And when you hesitate between two sizes, take the taller one - the machines most often swapped on rental fleets are the ones that fall one meter short.
| Platform Type | Working Height | Best For | Power |
|---|---|---|---|
| Electric scissor lifts | 6-14 m | Warehouses, interior fit-out | Battery-electric |
| Crawler / rough-terrain scissor lifts | 8-16 m | Steel work, uneven ground, slopes | Battery-electric |
| Telescopic boom lifts | 18-26 m | Construction, straight-line outreach | Lithium-electric or diesel |
| Articulating boom lifts | 12-26 m | Up-and-over maintenance work | Electric or diesel |
| Spider lifts | 10-30 m | Doorway access, sensitive floors | Dual power |
| Mast & vertical lifts | 5.5-11 m | Tight indoor spaces | Battery-electric |
An aerial work platform is a mechanical device that lifts workers and tools to elevated work areas safely. The main types are boom lifts (telescopic and articulated), scissor lifts, spider lifts, mast lifts and aluminum alloy lifts, covering working heights from about 5.5 m to 58 m. GLORYTECH manufactures all of these categories for construction, maintenance and industrial applications.
Choose a boom lift when you need horizontal outreach to work over obstacles, or heights above 12 m. Choose a scissor lift when the work is directly overhead, you need a larger platform with higher load capacity, and the ground is relatively flat (or use a rough-terrain scissor lift on uneven ground). If access is tight or the floor is load-sensitive, a spider lift is usually the better option.
Working height equals platform height plus roughly 2 m of operator reach. Measure the highest point you must reach, then select a platform height 1.5-2 m below it. For example, maintenance at 10 m typically requires an 8 m platform-height machine. Also check outreach, platform capacity and door/aisle width before finalizing the model.
Yes. GLORYTECH aerial work platforms are manufactured to EN 280 (the European standard for mobile elevating work platforms) and supplied with CE documentation, test reports and English manuals, so they can be imported and operated in the EU and other CE-recognizing markets.
Electric models produce zero emissions and low noise, making them ideal for indoor work, warehouses and city centers. Diesel models deliver more power and faster travel for outdoor and rough-terrain sites. For mixed use, consider a battery-powered rough-terrain model or keep charging infrastructure in mind when choosing electric.
